Cheap DVDsDVDs have been around in the UK for a good number of years now and have really come down in price. Cheap DVDs are much easier to come by now with prices down to as low as £5 or £6 for some classic DVDs and movies. Generally newer DVDs are realeased (or pre-released) at around £13.99 but soon come down in price as the online DVD retailers become ultra competitive. Cheap DVD Box SetsDVD Box Sets are a great way for you to get your hand on the whole series of films or TV programmes in one go and usually come in much nicer DVD packaging than the normal DVDs. You can get DVD Box Sets with 3 or 4 DVDs in or some of the larger box sets contain up to 20 movies in one box such as the James Bond DVDs or some of the sci-fi DVDs such as Babylon 5 or Star Trek. DVD WebsitesThere are plenty of retailers on the Internet who sell region 2 DVDs to the UK and many are now based in Jersey so that they can pass on tax savings and be more competitive. Larger DVD retailers include Amazon, Play, HMV, Zavvi, cd-wow and others but there also plenty of other reputal DVD stores online who can often compete well with the larger players in the market. |
Compare DVD PricesIt's worth remembering that there's not a single DVD retailer that will consistently be the cheapest dvd shop and therfore we reccommend that you always compare dvd prices online before ordering. DVD price checkers and comparison sites are usually very quick and offer up to date pricing to ensure you always get the best dvd prices. We always find cheap dvds using Billy Bargain. Billy Bargain is an online price comparison site which searches over 30 DVD retailers and is ultra quick too. DVD Price CheckersBilly Bargain has another nice feature which allows you to specify a price that you'd be willing to pay for a DVD. Say for instance that Shawshank Redemption DVD was currently listed as £12 but you only wanted to pay £7. Simply tell Billy Bargain and when the price drops below £7 they will email you to let you know. Blu-Ray DVDBlu-Ray is a new DVD format which offers a much higher quality of picture than a conventional DVD. For a while Blu-Ray competed with an alternative high quality DVD called HD-DVD which has recently ceased to exist partly due to the success of the Playstation 3 games console which includes a blu-ray DVD player. |
